We are psychotherapists who provide individual, group, couples and family therapy based in Manhattan and serving the greater New York area.
INDIVIDUAL THERAPY
what drives you?
We’re committed to creating a space for greater self-understanding.
Psychodynamic Psychotherapy believes an individual’s behaviors are driven by something. Understanding is key to create space to know what is driving YOU.
Things will get messy when doing this deeper work. The work of therapy is all about the “mess,” and we aren’t scared of it. This means we will not only look at what you are doing now, but what is underneath the “surface stuff” you might be experiencing. We’ll wonder together about what is going on in terms of your thoughts and feelings that might be leading to your actions, or behaviors.
Things won’t magically change overnight. Everything in life is a process, as is therapy. Growth takes time, and so will the process of your treatment. Our work together will help you build understanding and curiosity about yourself to bring you the relief you are looking for and deserve. It also might mean that you come to therapy sessions more than on a weekly basis, depending on what is going on for you, and our clinical recommendations.
We work to understand what you are thinking and feeling, and this takes time, and patience to do. We are human, and also wish there was a quick fix to relieve your pain, but, there aren’t any that lead to lasting change. We don’t believe that instant gratification or speeding things up works. We often help slow our patients down, to take small steps. This is the way lasting growth occurs.

COUPLES & FAMILY THERAPY
couples and family therapy
We offer couples and family psychotherapy sessions for existing and new patients.
We’ve found that involving partners and family members can be very beneficial for individuals who are experiencing Eating Disorders, personality concerns, or any other mental health issue that is interfering with an individual’s life.
If you are coming to us specifically for couples, or family sessions, we are process driven in the work we provide. This means we will work on understanding every persons’ concerns, and needs to foster more effective communication and boundaries. The goal will be to have more fulfillment and contentment in your relationships.
If you are an existing patient, sessions will be more psychoeducational. This will help support your recovery by getting your partner or family member onboard with your treatment and build more understanding of what has been going on for you.
If we feel like you would benefit from continued couples, or family psychotherapy we would refer you to a trusted colleague to maintain the integrity of your own treatment with your individual psychotherapist at the practice.
